Environmental Policy
"POS Direct are fully committed to the conservation and improvement of the environment and the reduction of negative environmental impacts, arising from our daily activities".
Our vision is simple
"Deliver our core services with positive effect, environmentally and commercially".
Our actions are vital
"Our team will continually challenge our processes and practices, discuss and review and implement corrective, cost effective action where feasible and required".
POS Direct will endeavor to achieve the following objectives in all of our actions and:
- Promote recycling as a core principle of our operation through induction, ongoing training, daily coaching, newsletters, staff notice boards and email signatures.
- Minimize the use of new packaging materials, by recycling/reusing original packaging.
- Dispose of waste through registered waste collection/recycling companies and ensure that all waste is filtered and prepared, ie wood, cardboard, paper and plastic, in readiness for collection.
- Minimize the number of collections required for cardboard, paper and plastic ensuring that all appropriate collection vessels are volume 'maximized'
- Minimize the number of collections required for wooden pallets, ensuring that only 'full loads' are collected
- Minimize printing of emailed information, through effective communication on the 'footer' of all emails 'please consider the environment: think before you print'
- Make efficient use of energy, encouraging staff to 'switch off' lights and PC screens when not in use. All appropriate switches and monitors to have 'labels' applied
- Encourage our team to propose 'cost saving initiatives' by way of a 'cost saving incentive scheme', with particular emphasis on environmental issues and impact
- Benchmark our actions and practices against the current prevailing laws and regulations, through regular monitoring and annual performance review.
- Work with our suppliers and service providers to minimize the impact of their operations on the environment
- Encourage and implement where practical, the use of public transport in favour of company or private vehicles, when visiting clients and/or suppliers
"The Directors of POS Direct are committed to the implementation and actions set out in this policy. A process of robust continuous monitoring and annual review, will serve to ensure tangible outcomes are evident"
